Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden described President Barack Obama as “powerless” to stop the war in Afghanistan and threatened to step up guerrilla warfare there in a new audiotape released to mark the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States.

The tape was posted two days after the eighth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 suicide plane hijackings.

Bin Laden, who is believed to be in hiding somewhere in the Afghan-Pakistan border region, said the current White House is merely following the Bush-Cheney strategy to “promote the previous policies of fear to market the interest of big companies.”

You can add this to the long list of things President Obama needs to take immediate care of that needs his attention.

Watch the tape right here.

He is really brave from his hiding place isn't he? You are right though this is something Obama needs to take care of.

The guy is just out of his mind. How is he releasing tapes? He just drops them off at the TV station, or what? Come on now, they need to find him already. Dude is probably in a casino playing slots or something. It's ridiculous.

It's like the latest Bin laden Mix-tape, out on the streets and all the beards and journo's are trying to get a bootlegged copy. Honestly though, he could have shaved and no one would recognise him. He could be anywhere from India to Spain, and the best places to hide are usually right under the other persons nose, where they won't look. Bet he keeps moving, but to obvious places.

I'm pretty sure I've seen him driving a "Stita" taxi cab at SeaTac Airport and he isn't in any disguise.
I know I'm making light of this tape but I just can't get concerned over his videos anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any bin Laden video before 9/11 alerting us in some cryptic way or even directly of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. So why be concerned about what he's saying now?
By the way, is that microphone sewn to his hand?

Changez: A bin Laden mixtape...maybe he'll start rapping his terriorist ways. Call himself Lil Laden. I agree with you. He is hiding in some resturant in France, probably a waiter or something. I think we are trying to hard, looking in mountains and caves. caveatlector: I'm not going to take him seriously until he stops with the videos, cause he's a coward, and steps foward and starts fighting his own fights. No more late night terriorist talkshows

Al-Qaeda is a joke. This is the best strategy that they could think of after 9/11. Make a video of Bin Laden in a cave for the next eight years. If Allah has called him to start the jihad, then he and Al-Qaeda has done a poor job and will continue to be lackluster.

They are a joke. They are fresh out of ideas. They might as well be doing music videos at this point. A video every five days is the rate is what they are doing this year. Where are they debuting these videos? Are they sending it straight to the White Hpuse? Does bin Laden have a Youtube account? I'll go find him then.

I agree, it is hard for me to listen to bin Laden call someone powerless when he's hiding and handing over power to someone else.
Reply By caveatlector caveatlector | 2 months ago
Absolutely. My thoughts exactly, except you phrased them much better than I could have. You're right on!

The video and audio tapes are getting old. He should release some records. Maybe he can spit some bars on a Dr. Dre beat.
