Buenos Aires, Argentina is brimming with life and excitement. A former Spanish colony, it is a melting pot of South America filled with the most diverse European immigrants. Florida Street welcomes you with tango dancers, living statues, and comedy acts at night. During the day, it shows you what shopping is all about. Old Palermo, its trendiest neighborhood, is home to 19th century houses that have been altered into booming hotels, bars, and shops. Plaza de Mayo, its political symbol, signifies the May Revolution of 1810 when Buenos Aires began its liberation from Spain. The tomb of Eva Duarte, known as Evita Peron, is the most visited. Residential dog-walkers can walk up to 15 dogs twice a day. Casa Rosada, known as the “Pink House”, is the government headquarters and official presidential residence. Nuestra Senora del Pilar, touted as the most attractive Church in the city, was built by the Franciscans in 1706. Palacio Duhau, known as Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, is a 1930s private mansion that has a high staff-guest ratio and outstanding service. Galerias Pacifico shopping mall is French-designed. Recoleta Cemetery houses the rich and famous families and personalities. Bear Hug originated in Berlin and was designed by a renowned graphic designer. Each bear represents a national culture. La Boca, created by Italian immigrants, is the oldest and most colorful neighborhood. Plenty of artistic activity happens here.
