The Department of Health (DOH) reported that dengue cases hit 16,317 as reported by various government hospitals. The report does not say if the figure includes those admitted and treated in many private hospitals.

As reported, there were at least 165 deaths related to dengue and most are in the age bracket 1 to 20 year old.

The health department said that this year's cases is lower by 37% from a year ago level.

The DOH is advising all to clean their places to get rid of mosquito-breeding places to contain the spread of dengue.
