"We are losing our country, we think the Muslim's are moving in and taking over," said a unidentified woman from the Tea Party organized in Washington D.C.
The footage of her exercising her right of being the princess of her own right wingnuttery world originally aired Saturday evening, Sept. 12, 2009, on NBC Nightly News, reported The Huffington Post.
That footage has now been re-edited instead to show a woman saying, “I'm scared to death for my country. I believe Obama is running this country into the ground.”
Those that say that the liberal media is always scheming against them, NBC just helped keep your party from looking as extremist as it is. The mainstream, liberal media, just helped you maintain some of your credibility, though I’m sure you will do something new to ruin it soon enough.
Approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people showed up for the organized Tea Party, thrown by Freedomworks and other conservative and libertarian organizations.
At the rally, Matt Kibbe, the president of Freedomworks, said onstage that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance. As a result many bloggers and news commentators have tout the artificially inflated number. The number actually stated by ABC News, was actually 60,000 to 70,000 people.
Up to 2 million protestors were expected.
There are almost 305,000,000 Americans, of them about 12 million are illegal immigrants, so lets subtract them. There are 293 million Americans in the country. 70,000 of them showed up to protest their outrage about the Obama administration. 00.024% of the total population of the country. If the 2 million expected had shown up it would have been 00.683% of the entire population of the United States. At least the last bit of data was over half a percent. It was almost a sixtieth of one percent.
If these numbers are evident of anything, it is that the Tea Party movement that the news media has popularized and covered was a waste of time. These people are not in the majority. We have given them far too much of our attention and time. These bunch of extremist really are just the fringe of the conservative movement.
Will the real conservatives please stand up and start talking for the party that claims it is speaking for you. Your voices are being missed, and your concerns are being muffled by the crazies. As Smokie The Bear said, "Only You Can Prevent" the forest fire burning through the reputation of your party.
The fire has been started by the people you trust to bring you your news. The very organizers of this Tea Party phenomena. I begin to wonder, are you really as enraged as Fox News wants you to be.
