Phillies prospect Terry Tiffee hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Team USA added six more runs in the eighth to beat China, 8-0, in 2009 IBAF Baseball World Cup action Saturday.

Team USA (2-1), which defeated Germany 9-1 on Friday and lost to Venezuela in extra innings in its first game, now advances to the second round of the tournament.

Team USA didn't have another hit after the first inning until Tampa prospect Jon Weber hit a triple off China pitcher Shuai Li in the eighth frame. White Sox prospect Josh Kroeger hit a three-run homer off Li's replacement, 15-year-old Feng Chen, later in the eighth inning.
