Political parties united for human rights and good governance.
CHITRAL: Leaders of all political and religious parties united in a steering committee for addressing problems of Chitral and protecting human rights under strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) during a meeting in a local hotel. All the politicians expressed their views and simultaneously show their unity for solving Chitral problems and joint efforts. During the meeting chairperson and general secretary election was also held. And members of steering committee unanimously elected Mahmood Esa Advocate as Chair person and Fazlur Rehman as General Secretary. Steering committee will play a role to highlight issues and problems through this platform. All the members and politician determined to must protect human rights and to continue their support for good governance for settlement problems of common people. This plate form will by declared a mailing stone in mutual harmony and positive politics and they will use their energy for constructive efforts. Director human rights Chitral Gul Hamaad Farooqi pointed out and raised some issues of Chitral that government has already announced remission of admission fee to students of Malkand Division but despite a part of Malakand Division Chitral,s students were deprived from this facility besides it utility stores of Chitral are empty and no essential edible items was supplied to Chitral under Ramzan special packages on subsidize rates as well as Chitral was not considered in different developmental schemes of Malakand relief package. The Director suggested that all political parties should to kick joint efforts and bring it into the notice of elected public representatives to raise the issues on the floor of Assemblies. All the stakeholders agreed with the Director suggestions and they decided that they will meet their public representatives in coming Eid to discuss these issues.
Newly elected Chairperson Mahmood Esa and general secretary Fazlur Rehman also spoke on the occasion and requested all members to continue their support because a single person never able to overcome all problems until he supported by joint efforts of all members.
Ijaz Qasim and Shabnum Noorien Program officer and coordinator briefed the stakeholders about aim and objectives of SPO. They said that SPO working in 46 districts of Pakistan while 15 organizations of civil societies are their partner organizations. They working on livelihood program to enhance life standard of people. It was revealed from a survey that Chitral is more poorest district of Pakistan where people living below poverty line. They said that at initial stage they will take 10 Basic Health Units to improve as model BHU. Similarly 10 schools would be improved by soft and hard ways, besides arbitration councils and mutual reconciliation system would be strengthened for settlement of petty issues. As well as they will launch a literacy program for illiterate’s women of the district. They stressed upon all stakeholders and members of steering committee to serve the people irrespective of heir cast and relegion sincerely without any personal interest and benefits. Engineer Temour Shah thanked all the facilitators who came here in the month of Ramzan (fast) and trained them for playing role to improve good governance and strengthening mutual harmony. Director Human Rights Hammad Farooqi also assured them of their full support and offered for any service for protecting human rights in Chitral and for relief to entire humanity.
