Mahatma Gandhi: President Obama’s Guest-in-Dream

Mr. Barack Obama, President of the USA, has great regard for Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest political personality of modern India. Mahatma Gandhi has left glorious mark in history for upholding his program of Non-violence which he had used in the Indian struggle for freedom.
It is a matter of great pleasure that President Obama has hung Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait in his chamber at the Senate. He has, as per his own statement, acted this way so that he can keep in mind that “results will not just come from Washington, they will come from the people”.
Lilly is a little girl, a student of Wakefield High School in Arlington of America. Lilly has got an occasion to ask President Obama with whom, alive or dead, he would like to dine. At this Obama has named Mahatma Gandhi. He makes the environment full of fun when he has continued to state that the courses will be frugal as Gandhiji has been loved to be treated with something little.
Sad it is that Mr. President will not have a chance to host a guest in the form of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi, popularly known as ‘Father of India’, was assassinated by a fundamentalist of the Hindu religion (actually a member of the Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangha) within a short time after India had achieved Independence.
Mr. Obama, by answering so to the little student Lilly, has inspired us all to look back once again on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.
[“My Experiment with Truth” is the most important literary work of Mahatma Gandhi. This is his autographical work.]
