The heavy rains in Delhi have thrown life out of gear and, the flooding in a Government run school complex resulted in a chaotic situation. There was a rumor of a live electrical wire having fallen in the water – the students were seized with the fear of getting electrocuted. The stampede that followed meant death of at last five children and injuries to at least 30 more. At the time, there were nearly 1000 students inside the school. The parents and guardians expressed their anger by pelting stones and creating road blocks – but the dead would not come back. Monetary compensation has been announced by the Government but, is that enough to wipe the tears from the eyes of the grieving parents?
