Zardari urges Pakistan’s ambassadors, HC to project Pakistan image as Peace Loving State

President Asif Ali Zardari has urged Pakistan’s ambassadors and High Commissioner abroad to project Pakistan’s image and identity as a Peace Loving State and advised them to expedite their efforts for the promotion of bilateral investment increase in trade volume. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed these views while talking to Pakistan’s designate Higher Commissioner to Australia, Ms. Fouzia Nasreen, Pakistan’s designate ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Wajid ul Hassan and Pakistan’s designate ambassador to Thailand, Suhail Mehmood who called on him before leaving to their respective countries after taking charge of their offices. On the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari advised the ambassadors and High Commissions to work for building friendly relations with the respective countries and project the image of Pakistan as peace loving state. The President has also directed ambassadors and High Commissioners to provide every possible assistance to Pakistan’s expatriates abroad. During the meeting with Higher Commissioner designate to Australia, Ms. Fouzia Nasreen, President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Australia enjoyed significant importance for Asia; therefore, he urged the Ms. Fouzia Nasreen to work for the promotion existing bilateral ties with the government of Australia in the fields of agriculture, mine, processing of vegetables and fruits and energy sector on priority basis. He also urged the High Commissioner to ensure maximum scholarship for the Pakistani students in Australia so that maximum students desiring for higher education could gain opportunity. Similarly, during the meeting with Pakistan’s designate ambassadors to Uzbekistan and Thailand, President Asif Ali Zardari has urged both to utilize their capacities and potentialities to enhance to existing bilateral economic ties with Uzbekistan and Thailand. President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the Pakistan’s designate ambassador to Uzbekistan to work for the further strengthening of the Uzbek Anti-Terrorism Mechanism.

First thing they should do is get the ambassadors educated, stop all political appointments and get the best in the foreign office out to the important postings, not send people because they are related to someone or have friends in high places. Nepotism in the foreign service has to stop.
