At 19 the Hubble Space Telescope was viewed as old and in the eyes of some not worth keeping or repairing, but smarter heads prevailed and in May 2009 the Space Shuttle took a crew to visit Hubble for a refit. Not only did the astronauts install some new instruments, they repaired some systems including two systems that had ceased to operate.

Today NASA released the first images from the newly rejuvinated Hubble Space Telescope. The breath taking views showed images of far reaching galaxies, star clusters, and a "butterfly" nebula.

Images from the Hubble telescope can be found at www.nasa.gov.
