Pray for Lisa Ray
Movie actress Lisa Ray needs no introduction – her latest film Cooking with Stella is scheduled to be premiered in the Toronto Film Festival on 16th September 2009. But, Lisa has been diagnosed with cancer of the bone marrow. That was on 23rd June 2009. In medical terms, it is known as Multiple Myeloma. It is an uncommon type of cancer and affects around 5000 Canadians every year and there are additions of another 2000 odd annually. People in the age group of 65 are affected – in the case of Lisa Ray, it has struck at the age of only 37 years. Her treatment has begun on 2nd July 2009 but she and her doctors realize that it is a losing battle. The survival rate is as good as NIL. Let us hope she is able to recover as early as possible.
