A student kidnapped from school gate. Another student crushed under a trailer. One of the students of government high school Landikotal identified as Akbar Hussein son of Zar Wahid came under the tyres of a trailer and his head was trampled down by the trailer in front of the school here on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses told that the killed student Akbar Hussain came under tyres when he tried to sit on the front bumper of the trailer by the time the trailer decreased speed at a diversion. He was reading at Fifth class.

Meanwhile another student identified as Refayat son of Pervez Khan was kidnapped on gunpoint from the school gate of Muslim Public High School Sheikhmal Khel Shinwari. He is a student of sixth class at the school, told his uncle Mumtaz Khan Shinwari in Landikotal press office. His uncle told that the kidnappers had given them an anonymous phone call demanding one million rupees. The student’s father Pervez Khan has already been kidnapped some six months before from Landikotal, Mumtaz told. Some sources said that a few days before he was kidnapped on a money dispute. The student was kidnapped from his village not the school, the sources informed. A clerk of the line officer also told that it was a money dispute adding that he was not a student.

Mumtaz Khan was critical that Line officer of Khasadar Force refused to take any action on the written order of the political Tehsildar Landikotal. Line officer is not willing to take action against the alleged kidnappers, Mumtaz blamed. One of the school teachers while talking to media men confirmed the abduction of the student and warned that their school students would protest on Thursday in front of Tehsil office for the early and safe release of the student.

The alleged kidnappers have carried the student through many checkpoints, which is deplorable for the common people of the area. The iron barriers of the check posts have been permanently made stand in the air rather than brought down to stop suspicious vehicles for checking. People don’t understand why the check posts have been made and the iron made barriers erected in the air.

He is the student or not but he is not involved in the money case as his father or other relative would be involved. So the Political administration silence over the kidnapping of innocent persons show that they are not interested to settle down the local disputes.
