Improving Business with Goldman Sachs and IESE

In the 21st century, women have played an increasing role in the field of business. A lot of females have made it to the Fortune list of most powerful women. In Manila, Philippines, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) formed a partnership with IESE Business School in Spain and Goldman Sachs. They created the 10,000 Women Business Training Program scholarship.

Twenty-four women comprise the 1st batch. They are going to start on September 14, 2009. For 150 hours, they are going to learn how to refine the business plan or concepts, improve the business set-up and operations through a deeper understanding of the basics of financial management, managing business operations, hiring and managing their employees to marketing their products and services.

Outside the classroom, they are going to do fieldwork for 50 hours with the top people in the industry coming from diverse economic sectors. Through this mentoring, they are going to learn new business insights and have access to markets. These women have been business owners for at least five years.

Qualified participants have until September 10, 2009 to submit their application. She must be a Filipino who finished at least two years of college or equivalent training and needs financial support to attend training programs.
