Drug Enforcement Administration Extradites Danish Woman, First Dane Extradited to the United States

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Miami Field Division Special Agent in Charge, Mark R. Trouville announces the extradition of Camilla Broe, marking the first time a Danish citizen has ever been extradited to the United States.

On September 4, 2009, Broe was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service in Denmark and transported to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to face U.S. drug trafficking charges. Broe is charged with a fourteen (14) count superceding indictment handed down on September 3, 2009, in the Southern District of Florida. The superceding indictment charges Broe with importing MDMA, also known as “ecstasy”, into Miami from June 1997, to February 1998.

Special Agent in Charge Trouville stated “this case demonstrates the persistence typical of DEA Special Agents who will relentlessly hunt drug traffickers no matter how long it takes.”

An Initial Appearance in Federal Magistrate’s court in Miami is anticipated for Broe on Tuesday, September 08, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.

Think you ought to know that Danish citizent Camilla Broe is a decent Danish lady about 42 year. She is born in Denmark but had been a former exchange student a couple of years in Miami. She had lived and lives now in Copenhagen Denmark for several years, is a taxpayer, has a job at an office, and is single mom to a little daughter. In Denmark she is not a criminel, she is not accused for anything here. She is extradited to USA because of mobster Fernando Tonelli had reported her during "plea bargin" deal. Danish opinion is that it is a miscarriage that this woman is extradited to the Miami US court. The Danish ministery used a Danish "terror law" deal to extradit her. Even she was not a terrorist of course. It was wrong to use this law. Broe is accused for crime in 1997 and because of that the case is time-barred and out of date.
