'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson starts school at Brown University

Emma Watson has officially begun her first year at Brown University. The Harry Potter actress known for her role as Hermione Granger will be taking time off from acting while she concentrates on her studies, which will include majoring in literature.

Watson has previously stated that she hopes to blend in and not attract too much attention. She arrived in a helicopter, however, which probably won't help her case. Watson recently said in an interview, 'But I do hope that it will be only a short time before I am known as "Emma Watson, the student from the UK" rather than "Emma Watson who starred in those Harry Potter films".'

Prior to classes beginning on Wednesday, students are attending several days of orientation. Activities include yoga, games, as well as lectures. Watson was photographed wearing shorts and a t-shirt as she participated in an activity with other freshmen. It must be a strange thing for her classmates to have Watson hanging out with them, as no doubt many of them grew up reading the popular Harry Potter series.

And for those worried about that last little film, Watson will return to the set of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows during her school breaks.
