Obama Continues to Blink and Won’t Act

It’s amazing that President Barack ObamaBarack Obama has lost contact with some of his background and training. As an athlete, he should be well aware that a player never blinks during active play. As a black man living in America, educated in the ivory towers of white western males, notwithstanding, should have known not to blink while under assault. But forget he has and his inability to respond effectively and swiftly to those attackers that he prefers to strike a balance with, will be his undoing and ours as well.

It would appear that the Main Stream Media suffers from the same malady as Barack Obama and his advisors. How does the Main Stream Media continue to fall prey to the antics of the far right? Day in and day out the MSM seems to be unable to focus on the reality that surrounds them. A front page article in the New York Times today addresses the so-called resignation of Van Jones from the Obama administration. The article states that Fox News was “investigating” Mr. Jones prior to the brouhaha over Glenn BeckGlenn Beck and the Color of Change’s launched campaign against Beck’ s scurrilous idea of infotainment. The amount of negative comments about Mr. Jones that has appeared on the internet over the last few weeks, yes weeks not days, is enough to fill several scholarly tomes except what’s largely been hurled is far from scholarly. Have you ever wondered how so many “fringe” conservatives can afford to stay home and send post after post of egregious, inflammatory rhetoric, oh, I mean their brand of “truth” against their favorite dark hued football of the day?

It’s like these people were just a few short months ago a horde of unseen and undetected cockroaches that have suddenly been loosed into the light of day and all hope for an effective fumigation died right along with the last political campaign.

It would be nice to return to an earlier time in America when political discourse was civilized and people treated other human beings with respect. There used to be a time when civil discourse was an accepted and respected form of communication between opposite points of view and especially so in public forums except for the uneducated, poor southern whites who were prone to expressing themselves uncivilly and violently and usually well after dark.

A staggering fact to consider is that the growing group of not so silent fringe conservatives have greater access to the MSM than any logical, calm speaking progressive could ever hope for. The growing mob, and there isn’t a nicer word to describe this group of haters, regardless of why they have embraced their hatred so vigorously, and the MSM continues to pour more fuel onto a bonfire that was merely an insignificant spark just a few short months ago. Years ago, I interviewed an executive at the Los Angeles Times who informed me that the “squeaky wheel,” translated means disgruntled responder, will get published whereas the reasoned article will be rejected. In other words, the MSM has angled for sizzle long before they seized on pushing entertainment news over real news as an angle to increase profits.

So, it follows that the Glenn Becks within our society found an effective way to draw blood from the populists choice, Barack Obama, and now the slavering pack of jackals are closing in on Obama’s hindquarters and his sensitive, bared tendons in his ankles. The pack has drawn blood and is confidently circling its prey because the pack has been incited to demand more blood to satisfy their insatiable hungers. Obama has been and is on the ropes, despite the fact that he appears to be oblivious to the facts that swirl about his numerous plans for change that have each all met with opposition and suffered some type of fatal wound that completely disfigured and changed it before implementation.

No White House appointment has ever before received the type of vociferous attacks and vetting that have afflicted Obama’s appointments. All of the legally charged and convicted, and their number are staggering, that were a part of the George W. BushGeorge W. Bush’s White House is just a snore to the blood thirsty fringees lodging attacks against the progressive left appointments in the Obama administration. And God forbid that anyone breathe the word “racism” in the wake of these segregation affirming, Affirmative Action supporting conservatives whose only goal is to preserve democracy for all Americans.

So, here’s a question for Glenn Beck et al: “If Obama wasn’t black, would you be working so hard to undermine him?” And another question: “When your guaranteed rights as an American citizen were being compromised by the previous administration, where were you and where were your protests?” Ah….I get it, that was different because the guy in charge said he was on your team, right? Well, here’s a newsflash: “That guy that held the office for eight years was never on your team – you were on his and he didn’t care whether you wanted to be on his team or not. His “good ole boy” cadence thrilled you to no end and you somehow missed the fact that he was no more a “good ole boy” than Barack Obama. The difference, that slow talking ex-president has white skin, a fact I know that you are well aware of and that alone gave and gives you all the trust you needed to wake-up everyday and feel, white, free and twenty-one.. I think, at this late stage in my life that I begin to understand why sheep can be led to slaughter without protest. It’s happening all around me. People are willingly being led to slaughter without a single protest. In fact they’re fighting to line up just to take a shot at a bleaker future than we thought that we were leaving behind.
