Van Jones

There are a lot of things in Washington that people should be fired for, but Van Jones stepping down over calling Republicans a--holes is not one of them. Maybe for being careless enough to be caught on video saying it, but certainly not for doing it. Come on!!! What have we sunk to in this country?? Is he the first – or the last – person to call the opposition party a name?? I doubt it. I know MY kids thought the Democrat Party had another name before it for YEARS… until they got old enough to understand that the word I was inserting before Democrat was not part of the party name. All he was doing was giving his honest opinion of the opposition party.

I disagree with Mr. Jones on about every level of political discourse, including his opinion of Republicans (I happen to think it applies to his own party), but I don’t think he should resign over it.

I don’t know Mr. Jones personally, but maybe he IS doing the right thing. If a small matter like this is enough to get him to step aside, what’s going to happen when he shows up in the Oval Office for his job performance rating? When the president asks him how many ‘green jobs’ he created so it can be put in the teleprompter for the next speech the president gives and Mr. Jones has to admit there are actually LESS green jobs out there now than before and the president goes ballistic, it might be better he goes now than later. At least now he can say he is resigning for political expediency. Later he has to admit he failed at his job and was fired. This incident will DEFINITELY look better on his resume than ‘got fired for failing to do my job.’ After all, we KNOW he’d put getting fired for failing to do his job on his resume… he’s the only HONEST Democrat we’ve found in YEARS!!!

You have a good point. That's nothing big enough to resign over. I'm sure there's a lot of severe bad mouthing going on behind the scenes with these politicians. And when he made that comment, it really looked like he was joking around.

what have we sunk to? how about this. we have become so accepting of social atrocities that a sack of pig farm filth such as this was allowed trudle his way into a lofty position such as he was in the whitehouse. since when does a baseless idiot like that qualify for such a job? we have lost sight of the fact that such a position is taken with reverence and awe. a fully mature adult mentality is what is needed for such a position, and an idiot like this finds his way into it. in order to do this type of job, the people chosen should be able to demostrate a profound level balance and non-bias in order to qualify for it. do you think a person as outspoken and biased as this belongs in the white house?? making desicions for everyone in the country? including those he hates?? that he can be trusted to make these decisions fairly and balanced on factual unbiased stand points?? i dont

The opinion above is an excellent example of the well balanced information needed to come up with a coherent and mature opinion, without any vulgar and derogatory language.

or his involvement with standing together to organize a revolutionary movement (STORM), a group explicitly committed to revolutionary marxist politics......i seem to recall the dems up in arms when these people showed up at the tea parties...but now it is "ok" to have one in the white house cause he is a democrat?

Ridiculous - he wasn't asked to resign for calling Republicans a**holes ... heck, my husband is a Republican and I call him that 3 or 4 times a day...He resigned because he should NEVER have been placed in the position in the first place and Obama has proven over and over that people who do not like the United States are just as welcome in his adminstration as any one who does.Van Jones is just a perfect example of poor judgement. A top level official w/his past comments/relations? Come on - now way he should stay.

I don't know if he doesn't like the US, but if he doesn't like the way the country has been run for the past so many years, he is entitled to his own opinion.

i dont disagrre with either you on the opinions matter. however, you must remember. this foul example of humantiy was in a particularly powerful position to force his opinion upon all of us whether we wished it or not. fortunately he was eliminated before he could wreak his filth upon us all. unfortunately, there are dozens of others just like him still in the white house and congress.
