Turkey's longest-Ramadan iftar table was formed in Esenler district of Istanbul.
The about three thousand-meter iftar table was formed in the district after the area was closed to traffic.
District officials hurried to bring meals and water to the table just minustes before the Azan (call to prayer). Residents also contributed to Ramadan iftar, bringing their own meals from homes.
Thousands broke their fast, praying together in the table as imam called to prayer. People praised the event, saying the similar organizations will build a bridge of friendship in society."
Esenler Mayor Tevfik Goksu said called people to organize mass iftars. "Such mass iftars will boost friendship, brotherhood among people," said Goksu.
