In an attempt to put the bad press of Windows Vista behind them, Microsoft is hoping to promote the release on Windows 7 with some good buzz. One of the ways they are doing this is by having people host a Windows 7 launch party. People who are selected will receive a copy of Windows 7 and be entered into a chance to win a new computer.

Microsoft would like to put the bad memory of Vista behind them as soon as possible, and so have really ramped up the promotion of Windows 7, which word of mouth is saying is much improved.
