Big Brother Barry is at it again! Do you use Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube or Flickr? It looks like you may have a new secret admirer in the coming months. The White House is now accepting bids for a technology vendor, to monitor data and collect comments, tag lines, e-mail, audio and video from any place where the White House maintains a presence, for up to eight years.

"The contractor shall provide the necessary services to capture, store, extract to approved formats, and transfer content published by EOP (Executive Office of the President) on publicly-accessible web sites, along with information posted by non-EOP persons on publicly-accessible web sites where the EOP offices under PRA (Presidential Records Act) maintains a presence,"(excerpt from White House New Media solicitation of bids, per WorldNetDaily)

I think it is an invasion of privacy and a waste of money. If someone is posting something that is terrorist related on the world wide web you can be sure someone will report them, they don't need to spend more tax payer money to monitor recipe exchanges, and teenagers talking about the party they went to last Friday.

Thanks for your comments! I think the intent is more to monitor opposition to Obama's administration. They still can't figure out why they're dropping like a rock in the opinion polls...

It's called "socialism" - which is a way of life in which everyone shares equally (AFTER the "ruling class" takes everything of value) leaving everyone else to share their poverty "equally..."

doesn't anyone see how the government is imposing their selves more and more into our private lives?.... the answer is no, i will be called a racist, a nut job, unpatriotic, a lunatic, an angry mob, etc for even hinting i disagree with this
