Now they want to hunt Obama down
Now they want to hunt Obama down

Rammell isn't the first Rexburg resident who has drawn attention for making an anti-Obama comment. This is really sick and indicates how deep this hate mongering is going. Last November, second-grade and third-grade students on a school bus there chanting Assassinate Obama after he was elected. The mayor of Rexburg, Idaho publicly apologized for the incident but the damage was done. Remember the Aryan Nation? In the 1980's, the white supremacist Aryan Nations was headquartered in North Idaho.

GOP gubernatorial candidate talks of "hunting" Obama

Sarcasm or threat: Did Rex Rammell cross the line? You bet he did! Calling for the President to be assassinated is illegal. Threatening the president is a felony punishable by five years in prison and a $250,000 fine and for good reason.

The US has a long history of presidential assassinations and attempts. To even think or make public statements about "hunting the president in the atmosphere Republicans have purposely created is dead wrong especially for someone running for office. It's even more repulsive coming from a candidate for governor of the Great State of Idaho which was the home of the Aryan Nation.

This is not funny! The atmosphere is too tense to tolerate explosive language like assassination. The following presidents have been assassinated in the United States: Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy. There were attempted assassinations on the following presidents: Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S Truman, John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

GOP blasts Idaho candidate's 'Obama tags' comment

They were slow in coming out and slamming what he said. They let it fester for a day. I'm telling you, I do not like the way this is headed. I remind you Threatening the president is a felony punishable by five years in prison and a $250,000 fine and for good reason. We better start clamping down on this and now!

Yesterday I noted It gets more vile and vitriolic every day. I am blown away by the hate and the calls for Obama's death! We know it is because Obama is black and some whites are angry as they fear they lost control of their America! I know President Obama receives more death threats than any other President in history So far 400 in total 30 per day. I just can not believe it! I encourage you to read this link it is short. This is a so called Preacher and this is so vile and hate filled it is horrific as this idiot tells his flock he goes to bed every night praying that Obama be killed.

You know, that so called pastor a Preacher in Arizona named Steven Anderson said "I am going to pray Obama dies" " his wife should be husbandless and his daughters Fatherless" That hate and he is preaching it on the pulpit, Is too much. It is horrible for anyone to say that plus he he demands that all gays and lesbians face the death penalty. Then he said the country is run by faggots and he called Barney Frank a pedophile before praying for Obama to melt like a snail. Gospel of Hate: Arizona pastor Steve Anderson spews bile toward ...

This increasing hateful vile should be illegal and I do not understand how it is condoned because it is just getting worse and worse every day. Now there is no denying it is because President Obama is Black! We have got to reign this end before it is too late and Republicans get the second Revolution they have been asking for since Preident Obama was elected!

He's no Christian, nor an ordained pastor either. He is a tool for the agenda and nothing more. Since he is a "new" resident to Arizona, and believe he is an actor actually - and not a pastor. And Baptists are Zionists so they go along with the NeoCon Republican and Democratic Liberal left wing....so you should like him really, since he is doing your job for you...bashing Christians publicly by claiming to be one, when it isn't at all.

Hate is the only true political conversation that crosses all spectrums. HATE is not republican...it's just hate. I believe if you go back just a little over a year ago - the article might just have easily been written by a republican discussing the many signs carried by the left wing clearly stating the same about the former President. All people who wish a President dead - no matter what their political affiliation - are beyond comprehension to me. You may dislike the politician and the policies - but to carry a sign wanting Bush dead - Obama dead - or anyone dead - shows nothing but ignorance and HATE.It's bipartisan my friend. MAybe the ONLY thing that truly is.

No, both of them should serve in Guantanamo maybe for a good long time. And have to watch their campaign ads as torture.

You might want to look up the truthful history about just why those particular presidents were targeted, although I'm sure you won't really recognize it or admit it as some "conspiracy" theories. And the liberals love to thrown hate speech around in supposedly addressing hate speech.Since the pastor that was involved is from my former home state, let me say this. I don't believe he is an ordained pastor at all, and actually believe he is ia fraud. And is being used by the liberals also as one in order to demean the Christian faith most of all, sort of like the ACLU. There is an agenda here, folks, and seems some of those on this site are part of it.Starting researching the connections between Andrew Jackson, Abramam Lincoln and John Kennedy - and wars and banking.....and just who stood to loose the most if the United States ever became a Constitutional Republic once again, and not under European banker control. And really, you are simply too incredible. Since you all are so quick to condemn Bush (and believe me, he needs condemning for LOTS of his unconstitutional actions - but are such Obama worshipers it is truly making this site absolutely a love fest). And yet he has just fired most of Detroit, engaged in a merger with the Chinese and Mexico in that GM joint venture which will most likely end up being used to manufacture those Hummers so all that smack and crack can get through those desert borders under the radar, and is ripping off the homes of Americans in order to pay back those foreign investors, while collecting all those usurous charges for the Federal Reserve.Obama works for the Federal Reserve, and he will only be in danger, if he actually started being a leader and showing a back bone and actually doing something to protect the citizens, from their Wall Street feeders and branches that have been making Americans homeless since it was instituted for their own outrageous profits, starting with the depression, and control of the world's economy.Do most of you work for the government, Silicon Valley (which is owned by Murdoch, along with a great deal of our media, also a British citizen), or the banks and lenders or in the real estate industry?Since the British took over the country in 1913 without firing a shot. And you keep making these things partisan issues, which just goes to show you are about 75 years behind the times.

Meaning, the more you can misconstrue scripture and tie in politically the way he does and in the manner he does, he isn't a Christian at all, or I sincerely think he has misconstrued scripture quite a bit on a great deal of his "YouTube" stuff that is now being published.I actually think he may work for the ACLU.
  • Reply By twocrows twocrows | 3 months ago
your ignorance about the ACLU is showing. the only thing that organization does is protect our rights. all rights. whether the people who do the protecting agree with those they are championing or not.please educate yourself before pushing your own brand of hate speech.

Or rather, the Zionist block since he has labeled himself as a "Baptist," minister....although clearly he is got another agenda altogether and is not at all what he appears to be.

Although you are a great cartoonist. Which liberal mainstream medial newspaper do you do or did you do your political cartoons for there inthe liberal Northeast? So liberal, that our Constitution apparently only applies for partisan issues, not fundamentally across the Board in "liberal" construction.Bush was so "liberal" he threw the whole thing out. And Obama is just the same. Both "liberal" constructionists in that it doesn't even exist.

That's partially the reason why I stopped going to church because the church of God pastor is always hate mongering and preaching curses upon the members if they don't hand over their money, he wants too much moneybut he only helps himself, he won't even pay his bills. He owes money to people, they ask me about it but I can't help them because he moved right across town. Imagine owing only 200 pesos equivalent to $10.00, hespends thousands every week and he can't pay $10.00 he owes for the ink for his printer. 1/9/2009.

I am not an Obama supporter but to even suggest that he should be assassinated is appalling. I don't understand this intensity of hatred and can only pity those for whom it is a way of life as it seems to me that it is synonymous with fear. Is their American dream turning into an American nightmare or are they just so insular that anything outside their narrow scope of vision appears as a big scary monster?

I cant follow the links either, and i havent been able to find anything on your story regarding rexburg idaho. Haven't heard a word about it, which i find strange for 2 reasons.#1 That is something that it seems like it would be all over the news#2 I grew up in Idaho a few minutes from Rexburg,I have family and friends all over there and for such a big deal i am amazed i haven't heard of this.I am not implying that you are making it up, I dont doubt that the idiot made those statements but i wanted to point out that White supremacists are not the majority in idaho. It is predominantly consevative but thats the extent of it and obviously at least one guy and some kids need to think before they speak and SHOULD NOT BE ELECTED to public office.

Ross I have to tell you, We finally agree! I am so sick of people wrapping themselves in Christianity to make their hate and vitriol legitimate in God's eyes or so they think. They are no different than the so called terrorists.

Maryann this is getting very, wery disconcerting because regardless of the party it is wrong and illegal and there are fools that are increasingly falling for this crap. Republicans might be gaining but the country is losing big time. I am sickened!
  • Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | 3 months ago
Ross I just want to point out that Christianity is not a party thing. Kennedy was a good Christian Obama is supposed to be a good Christian and I am a good Christian. I remember some lunatic saying you are a Democrat you can't be a Christian so I said good so all those child molesting priests you are telling me are Republicans. This stuff has to stop the party's should not matter only the country.
