'Muck monster' vexes Florida

West Palm Beach, land of the people who can't count votes, has a new problem.

The "muck monster", as it has been dubbed, was spotted and videotaped this past weekend by a group called the lagoon keepers.

The creature lurks just beneath the surface of the water and never surfaces, making soft ripples as it moves. When the lagoon keepers get close to it, the thing just disappears.

A marine biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission who carefully studied the video said, "I can't definitely say what it is."

Looks like a sea snake, or just the breeze. Or a lot of hot air.
