As students head back to school for the start of the academic year, health officials, are warning the public of another outbreak of the H1N1 virus. Schools in all districts are preparing for the outbreak.
To try and help decrease the spread of the virus, schools have set up prevention plans to try and limit the exposures to the virus. All high exposure areas like railings and door handles, will be disinfected frequently.
Posters on proper hand cleaning techniques will be going up in washrooms, and teachers will make sure the students are well versed in the importance of proper handwashing. Newsletters will be going home to parents, and a special hand sanitizer will be made available to the students and staff.
In some districts the staff members will be cross trained to fill in for other sick staff members, and retired faculty are being put on a call in list, to be brought in as fill ins for ill staff members.
The feeling is that with proper education and sanitation, students and staff can avoid getting the virus, and help prevent the H1N1 virus, from becoming a crisis.
It is good to know that preparations are being made to help protect our children, their teachers, and the general public from spreading the H1N1 virus further then what it has already done. Kudos to Everybody involved in trying to stamp out this virus!
