Eric Holder Obama

Eric Holder should resign from his post as US Attorney General not only because of his Breach of Faith to the Intelligence gathering Community, but because of the many conflicts of interest that have kept him from performing his job honestly and unbiasedly. We all know about his dismal track record while serving under the Clinton administration. We all know about his botched decisions regarding crooked financier Marc Rich. We all know about the pardons of the 16 FALN terrorists as well. These alone should have been a warning to those confirming his nomination for the USAG post. But with a Democratic majority in the Senate & Congress, Holder got a free pass and explained away his ineptness as a learning experience.

Who’s side is he on?

What the American people received was damaged goods. They got an Eric Holder that did not disclose his involvement with cases involving the RNC and the potential for conflicts of interest. Conflicts of interests that if disclosed at the time would have cost him and his Law firm, Covington & Burling millions of dollars. Take for example the case of former Democratic Alabama Governor Don Siegelman , convicted of bribery charges and sent to jail for seven years. Mr. Siegelman’s backers, and some legal experts, contended that the evidence against him was flimsy. But the appeals court judges, all appointed by Republican presidents, brushed past that claim. At the outset of their 68-page opinion, they expressed great reluctance to interfere with the jury verdict, handed down nearly three years ago in Montgomery, Ala. in 2007, the House Judiciary Committee began investigating charges that President Bush's top political advisor, Karl Rove, had played a role in the prosecution. Hence, the RNC became a client of Eric Holder’s firm Covington & Burling. Hence the delay in bringing to trial the Siegelman case. Holders’ firm was paid millions of dollars by the RNC, to protect them from having to turn over Karl Rove's emails that were run on the RNC Servers. So, instead of doing the right thing and prosecuting the case or asking the President to appoint a special counsel, he placated the Right, Karl Rove and the RNC, turned his back on the Left who wanted Spiegelman cleared of the charges and in essence, let the case languish while causing Spiegelman to sit in jail longer than he should have. All for the sake of the almighty dollar.

The Ted Stevens Case

In the case involving Republican Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, he chose to drop the case instead of trying to defend the conviction handed down by a Federal Judge. Holder explained away the decision by saying:

"After careful review, I have concluded that certain information should have been provided to the defense for use at trial," "In light of this conclusion, and in consideration of the totality of the circumstances of this particular case, I have determined that it is in the interest of justice to dismiss the indictment and not proceed with a new trial."

Little did we know that the main reason for not proceeding with the case was the boatload of money the RNC was forking over to Holders Law firm, Covington & Burling. Conflict of interest?

Holder's favorable treatment of Republicans hardly stops with the Stevens case. The Tobin phone-jamming case in New Hampshire, the Kott case in Alaska, and the Abramoff/Feeney case in Florida are other examples of the Eric Holder DOJ killing GOPers with kindness.

Who is calling the shots?

So one has to wonder about the motivation behind Holders push to shame CIA agents and interrogators and exposing Americans to more violence from terrorists that see the US as soft and not interested in the fight against terrorism. Is the end game trying to Bash the Bush administration or make nice with the Liberal Left? If you may ask, Holder has a lot of making up and explaining to his party faithful about his penchant for going soft on Republicans in return for the almighty dollar. This smells to me like Holder is taking his marching orders from Obama who is looking to rally his base after failing to hammer home a Healthcare Bill before the summer.

Anyone that thinks that Eric Holder is doing this in the name of law is delusional. This guy has shown that he has no backbone and is merely a puppet doing Obama’s bidding. He could care less about setting examples to the world community about how Intelligence interrogations should be conducted. He has always been about the almighty dollar and nothing less. The left should be up in arms and asking this phony to resign because frankly, no one seems to know who’s side he’s on.. "

This guy was behind the release of these 16 FALN terrorists and also paved the way for the pardon of one the worst & most corrupt financiers this country has ever seen, Marc Rich. The reason I wrote this piece about him was because it seems that the Mainstream Media has not gone after this guy about hsi motivations for going after CIA informants and his ties to Covington & Burling. If they did, they would expose him for what he is. A phony.

"Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." George Orwell. - -................................................................Eric Holder is NO rough man - and this probe is a mistake. HUGE.

I have lost a lot faith in this administration and their ability to connect with Mainstream America. Most people except those on the far left do not want this probe to take place. The President holds blame for this as well because if he wanted to, he could put an end to this. We'll keep counting down the days till 2010, & 2012.

Liberals want to investigate things like, the use of torture, warrantless wiretapping, extraordinary rendition, and executive override of laws. While conservatives believe it's OK to use torture, warrantless wiretapping, extraordinary rendition, and executive override of laws, provided they are done by Republicans. At the same time, conservatives want Obama & Axlerod investigated, ASAP. Hmm?JerrySatirewww.Lampoon.net

No liberals want the world to be a great big equal playing field where everyone licks lollipops and is happy.Conservatives believe in defending the country and that waterboarding is hardly as severe as the mass murder of 3,000 Americans which was intended to be 10,000.Liberals also believe in equal playing field and all working for the government for the greater good. Conservatives believe if you work your ass off 15 hours a day 7 days a week and sacrifice much of your family time that you deserve to make more $$$ than the State worker who works 37.5 hours a week and not one minute more and has 6 weeks off a year compared to the private sector person who takes none.Different philophies. Some believe you SHOULD work hard to get the big bucks and some believe everyone should work the same and make the same....and still others don't want to work at all. Liberals would feed them - I would too if they had a reason to not work - but let them starve if they don't.

Cheney tells us that waterboarding is not torture and that using waterboarding, saved America. CIA experts tell us waterboarding is torture and a worthless tool. Soo, feel free to believe Dick and his fairy tales, as he tries to stay out of jail. I believe conservatives are cool with, "Let them eat cake." How smug and sad they are. That's French, not American. Many grandfathers came to this country with $60 and worked hard to get where they are today. Instead of handing it over to 20 million illegals, they have a right to think they worked for their citizenship (with no healthcare, welfare or stimulus checks) and others should too. I don't think even you could look a naturalized citizen in the face and tell them they should pay the way for anyone who has not learned the language, the history of this country and earned their citizenship. Ask Vito - who came to Staten Island in 1920 and worked three jobs to buy an ice truck and then drove all night delivering ice and eventually started growing his business, sent his children to school and continued the growth of his business for the next three generations of sons that he didn't EARN his right to his palm beach ocean front home.....................THAT is America..... not this great big welfare state it's turning into.

Jerry,For the 7 years after 9/11, did you or your family or any of your close friends face anything close to the fate of the 3,000 families that suffered through the worst terrorist attack in history on American soil? If your answer is No, please thank Mr. Cheney & Mr. Bush for leading the effrot to protect all of our behinds.Waterboarding as you know, was used effectively on three prime terror suspects. It was used on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. It was used on Abu Zubaydah. And it was used on (Abd al-Rahim al-)Nashiri. Sheik Mohammed was the mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks and the guy that bragged about beheading Daniel Pearlman. Remember him? So under these circumstances and at the risk of other potential attacks, I would have done exactly the same thing. Keep Americans safe.

Doesn't everyone want the world to be a great big equal playing field where everyone licks lollypops and is happy? I know that's now how the world is but isn't that what we should want? I'm sure that's what I want.

Obama said right from the start that we shouldn't start a witch hunt against people in the previous administration that might have exceeded their legal bounds. Leave the past behind and work for the future. Everybody knows that crimes were commited. Just put it behind us and try to start fresh and try not to commit any more crimes in the future.Sounds good to me. After all, it was extraordinary circumstances and impossible to judge how anyone else would behave if faced with similar circumstances. But noooooooooo. People want these crimes and excesses investigated. Some just want vengence against the Bush administration. Others, like Cheney and his cohorts, seized upon yet another "oportunity" to blow smoke out their collective butts and accuse the Obama administration of trying to cover-up the truth. They say if the truth be known then all will be justified.Well, now, at their insistance, it looks like Cheney and his buds are getting their wish. And I don't think they're going to like it. As they say, "Be careful what you wish for...".Fact is, I truly admire Bush much more now than when he was President. He knows to keep a low profile and when to keep his mouth shut!

winds7seas,Well said. This is nothing but a witch hunt to take focus away from the real issue at hand at the moment. The White House has lost control of the issue and are now back peddling to keep their base energized by bringing up the past. What better way to do this than to whip up on their favorite targets, Bush/Cheney. As you said, the more Bush stays away the more appreciation I have for him. I think history will be a lot kinder to him than most people give him credit for.
