At only 17 years of age, the smiling girl faces interrogators in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She calmly relates that she murdered the men for "money, revenge, and to bring about justice". Too young to be even named, she stuns cops by owning up to the serial killing spree that started when she was only 15 years old.

She wanted to turn herself in before she was 18 years old so she could be tried as an adult.

Smiling as she reeled calmly the list of names of the men she butchered with the same knife, she stated she didn't have the courage to even hold a gun. She bragged about her stealthy grace with a knife though.

"I promised to confess before I turned 18 to avoid upseting my family"

It shocked the country who is still dealing with the TV crime show host for allegedly arranging killings t boost ratings. Ex-cop Wallace Souza, built an empire with a massive following for 'Canal Livre Show'. Former colleagues became suspicious when the camera crews always seemed to know when and where to be on the scene of breaking news crime happenings. He denies trafficing of drugs, threatening witnesses, and possessing firearms. His son is one of 15 arrested in the plot.

The teen relates to police in her interview that she slaugtered one man for throwing a glass of brandy in her face in a bar row one night.

That was a VERY daring act on the part of such a young girl. There definitely was a sound reason for the act.

FauziaSultana - Daring? How about immoral, brutal or horrible. A sound reason? What is that reason. I don't see how one could ever murder 30 people with sound reason and then confess to avoid prosecution as an adult.... I think I must be misreading your comment?

Yeah, I'm a little confused too...I mean, I *guess* I can see that it was daring, but more like brazen and rash and brutal and horrific. And also, I'm not quite sure if there is ever any sound reason for serial killing - ever. Not even if those men did something "drastic" to the teenager. Not even if those men killed someone close to her. I really don't think reciprocal committing of crimes solves anything, no?

that does seem confusing Write4Life, I agree...

Those 30 men MUST have definitely done something drastic to the teenager otherwise why would she commit such a horrendous act!
Reply By Write4Life Write4Life | 3 months ago
Must? I really don't mean to sound like I am picking - because I am certainly not - But, I think many - many - many people have been killed by serial killers that did absolutely nothing to warrant their death.Ted Bundy's - Jeffrey Dahmer - certainly not the fault of the victims.

I agree. Furthermore, I find the idea that 'there must have been something horrible done to her, otherwise why, oh why, would she commit such a horrendous crime' to be a bit patronizing. Killers come in all shapes, sizes and genders. And the scary thing about them is that, as Write4Life argues, there need not be any reason for their crimes. Also, would it be any less wrong to kill someone as a form of revenge? Killing is killing.

It says because she was so innocent-looking someone hired her as a assassin to kill those men.It was no doubt a horrendous act and she realized her deed and confessed to the police.

I have been sick with the stories of violence since my early life.
Is it for this the grasses are green?
Reply By AsherKade AsherKade | 3 months ago
who knows broteem...I'm conjecturing that it's society/upbringing/economic/possible medical-psychological issues that bring forth such obstrocities....

Yeah, I definitely agree. One's upbringing and current socioeconomic situations as well as one's psychological instability all play major roles in deviation of human social interactions. For the upbringing case, there is this show on T.V. called the Biggest Loser and one incredibly overweight contestant admitted that her gorging obsession was brought about because of her depression of her mom's drug addiction and lack of caring for her; thus, the overweight contestant foudn solace in food at a young age and continued to find happiness in continual eating. Socioeconomic status leads to depression of one's current circumstances and declining options in the world; with stress or the need for money, many people turn to crime as their hope for success. Lastly, psychological issues are pretty straight forward as seen in many law cases that let murderers off the hook because they plead for mental disability. Should they be pardoned, however, is another discussion....

All in all, I agree that the reason for violence in the world is the escalading gap between the rich and the poor, the weighty problems and stress the world places on its inhabitants and the medical problems that abound in a society filled with millions of people, some not fit for normal societal living.

She should be dealt with by the Children's Services. 24/8/2009.

I disagee - She should tried as adult. Severity of crime and intent. She admitted to waiting until JUST before her birthday to AVOID being tried as an adult.

That's as clear as day.

I see some validity to your point Write4Life. After pondering the article some more, I see how she may have played the judicial system. Due to the gravity of the situation, she should be tried as an adult. However, generally speaking, when should someone be tried as an adult? Or left as a juvenile? When do we take pity on the victims and partially for the perpetrator? Should the perpetrator ever have any pity? We are seeing a lot of "compassion release" stories lately like the one in Lybia...should perpetrators ever get compassion?

I see the cause for compassion is needed in life as a human because not everything can be cut and dry - even though it sure would make things easier. Intent, proof, motive, all very important issues when weighing compassion. If a woman endures years of beatings by her husband and her 10 year old son ( or her) kills the man - I cold see cause for compassion. I do not have compassion for a cold blooded killer who abuses the juvenille system on purpose. I do howeve,r have compassion for the 8 year old who kills as an act of revenge in the projects because he (or she) has not learned anything but the ways of the gangs. It is never a single occurance that can justify the system. There is so much innocence that is taken in youth that I would want to show compassion when ever possible. But, all situations should be taken individually and intent, severity, and motive should all be considered. ...........................................I appreciate this article -- by the way- It takes a look at innocence lost - something all societies - across the world - are adding to everyday. .................................WE are the ones responsible for the lost youth and the push away of childhood and its special memories and bonds. Youth forced to starve, murder or simply forced to grow up too fast.....................................We have lost our flowers.
