Is Axelrod the Democrats Cheney?

It's time to nix the double standard of politics. There are just as many dirty Democrats as there are dirty Republicans...both parties have their share of greed mongers and the difference is, one is vilified by main stream and the other glorified. You be the judge of which party gets the gold star.

Democrats are just nicer. Right?

Dick Cheney was a dirty rotten scoundrel. There was nothing good in that man's spirit and he did nothing but get rich off the Iraq war. When news broke that Halliburton had been awarded lucrative contracts in Iraq, CORRUPTION was the headline across that nation. Cheney was a true Republican scumbag and his ties to Halliburton proved it.

The Kerry – Edwards team knew it and used it as a campaign commercial. The ad featured Cheney stating: "I have no financial interest in Halliburton of any kind and haven't now for over three years." Kerry's commercial screamed of Cheney's guilt. American people are faced with a $200 billion price tag for Iraq and rising health care Cheney got 2 million and in exchange Halliburton received several no-bid contracts.

The problem was – the America believed the Presidential campaign ad. – "Hook, line and sinker" they call that. The commercial was a smash hit for Kerry – one of his best. The fact that it was completely false was irrelevant as most Americans simply do not research anymore. Americans believe that commercials for Presidential candidates that end with "I am ____and I approve this message" MUST, in fact mean it has been FACT CHECKED! Except, the commercial was one lie after another.

Cheney did not get 2 million from the Halliburton contracts and he proved it! He produced all the documentation to prove he was telling the truth yet despite this – the DNC and Kerry-Edwards used the lies as propaganda for the election.

Those, like myself who defending this with fact were not quite taken seriously because despite all the facts proving Kerry's ad and the DNC propaganda was false, liberals rebounded with "Who cares? Conflict of interest anyway."

Since Cheney was on deferred payments – had Halliburton gone bankrupt – Cheney would have suffered. So, obviously there is a conflict of interest...except, Cheney had worked out a system to make sure this didn't happen BEFORE he took office to avoid a conflict of interest. But this again was overlooked by media and the truth that he really had no vested interest in Halliburton took backseat to baloney.

And, it didn't stop there. Cheney also had stock options and the vilification over the stock options was everywhere. He would make millions (more) off those and once again – being the horrible dirt bag he was – the DNC made sure it was publicized everywhere – complete neglecting to add that the profit from Cheney's stock options had been forfeited prior to his VP position as well. He didn't defer his stock options after the contracts for Halliburton went through – it was BEFORE and he didn't just forfeit them – he forfeited them to charity: 40% to the University of Wyoming 40% to the George Washington's medical facility to be used for tax exempt charities and 20% to Capital Partners for Education. That horrible man even made it irrevocable – Cheney could not waive it or amend it and he could NOT take the options back in the future. Whether you like Cheney or not – these are BLATANT FACTS. Giving up the rights to those stock options was a huge financial sacrifice and the charities that were granted the options received a sizable donation that was hardly recognized by main stream media.

The Vice President wasn't the only ones the Democrats went after. Americans United for Social Security renamed their organization the Americans United for Change (there's that word CHANGE) and immediately launched a 1 million dollar campaign against the Republican Party (and Bush.) The group received $500,000 from a large labor union (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) and further the Associated Press released information from undisclosed officials at Americans United for change saying Harry Reid of Nevada and Nancy Pelosi of California met with the donors prior to donations "underscoring their personal interests in the group's efforts..." (I know – the AP lies.)

Anyway, the ad... made several misleading statements in a blatant attempt to smear the Republican image mainly that of the Bush administration. "The President gives away billions to the drug companies ... while cutting health care for our seniors" it states when what truly occurred was the largest expansion of Medicare since it was enacted by adding a prescription drug benefit! The result was a 37% reduction in cost for prescription drugs to seniors. Certainly not the message the ad was putting out!

The ad (which, I should state goes after energy legislation and Medicaid changes enacted by the Bush administration) also implied drug companies were seeing a huge windfall from the Bush administration when if fact, the legislation gave no taxpayer money to drug companies under the new legislation. The claim was based on a study by two staunch Bush critics Alan Sager and Deborah Socolar of Boston University. No mention of the disputed facts by PricewaterhouseCoopers who estimated the so called "windfall profits" were actually much lower than the BU study used for the ad purposes stating it was really somewhere in the range of (+3.2% to a -1%). Marked differences in the two studies – one side presented. WHO lead the fear mongering on seniors campaign???

It became apparent that the liberal groups were set out to mark the Bush administration as the most corrupt ever. They used tactics like those mentioned in this article to paint Cheney, Bush and the RNC as thieves. Pure and simple, the administration did every little thing possible to push their own personal agendas.

Republicans who were running for re-election quickly began to distance themselves from the administration and the world CHANGE grew in strength. Result – Democrats took the Congress and a Democrat took the Presidency.

The ads worked.

So, they question is now: Will the Republicans hold this administration as responsible for their actions as the Democrats did with the last? This time will the American people check fact verses fiction?

Start with conflict of interest issues. Congress is immune as are the President and Vice President. That said – Cheney and Bush were never held to “conflict of interest” issues anyway and Cheney need not have produced any documentation to support his ties to Halliburton. Given the liberal media ignored that he did, it was in vain anyway.., Pelosi and Reid have no issues with their conflicts of interest either (and I'll throw my Mass - man Frank in there too...what planet is that dude from?) since they can walk away free of any charges even if they profit billions.

But what about David Axelrod?

A perfect example of what comes around goes around? Conflict of interest or not?

Conservatives are screaming foul and writer and author Michelle Malkin is on the circuit exposing a little bit more of the Sr. Advisors "issues."

It starts with Axelrod's position as president and sole shareholder of AKPD Message and Media. Axelrod sold his interest AFTER Obama's victory and is owed 2 million dollars by the firm. Unlike Cheney, who collected before entering office, Axelrod is still owed the money (not to mention is not immune to conflicts of interest suits) and therefore, absolutely has a vested interest in the company.

Enter the health care debate and Axelrod's interest. AKPD is currently receiving very large sums of money from "Healthy Economy Now" which includes in its coalition: PhRMA, the AARP, the SEIU and other BIG players in the health care debate. Is Axelrod negotiating any deals involving any of these companies now directly tied to a firm that owes him money? If so, Axelrod might want to run from the media because it would blow the socks off the accusations by liberals way back when concerning the Cheney-Halliburton scandal!

Time for a special investigation already? Yes, but I am not counting on one. This administration seems to be WAY above the law.

How about it Democrats.... are you going to stand behind your claims to righteousness and the truth – or is Axelrod getting a free ride like so many other Obama cabinet members and advisers?

As for Republicans...Seize the day!

I agree. There are just as many dirty Democrats as there are Republicans. Thank God Dick Cheney is a boyscout and had nothing to do with ; torture, warrantless wiretapping, extraodinary rendition, and executive override of laws. Just like the liberal media to bring this stuff up. BEFORE Dick went to work for Halliburton, Dick felt America needs to stay out of Iraq. Dick has the right to change his mind. Nothing wrong with that. Yep, Dick Cheney is a boyscout and the liberal media just don't get it. [:-0 Also, there are just as many dirty CEOs from corporate America, just look in jail and you will find them. [:-0

Your hope and change - Blowing the SOCKS of the former administration's "transparency" and corruption... and they JUST started rolling.

It's going to be a really long 3 years and 4 months for you to have to keep defending a corrupt administration who got going before they even took office.

Why won't you even admit its "fishy" or suspicious? Is it really that hard?

I admire your persistence though. You're a true follower.

I said ; "There are just as many dirty Democrats as there are Republicans. We need better regulations, oversight and watch groups for government folks AND corporate folks. It won't end Greed, corruption and waste but should help to at least stop some government AND corporate crimes.
I admire your conservative persistence though. You're a true follower. [:-)

Write4Life, I appreciate your article because you are at least aware of the fact that political corruption is reality. However, there are a couple of things I'd like to say. One, most Americans have been so thoroughly brainwashed by the sophisticated propaganda machine consisting of The Tavistock Institute and their multitude of Think Tanks, along with Operation Mockingbird, and, of course, the totally controlled mainstream media.

Your reference to the "liberal" media is a red flag revealing the fact that you, too, have been victimized by this sophisticated propaganda. It is ALL corrupt!

The nature of politics, in any country, is that EVERY politician, regardless of their "party", MUST be corrupt. There is no other alternative. While many of them start out wide eyed and honorable, trying to do the right thing, they ALL soon bump into the real power, the agenda of the ruling plutocracy, which is generally fascist in nature.

Remember the golden rule the ruling plutocracy lives by, which is, "whoever has the most gold..RULES!" Everything else is a smokescreen.

Unless you are really part of Operation Mockingbird, intentionally misinforming or disinforming us, look to those who possess the greatest wealth. Look at Adolfo Nicolas who controls the Vatican Treasury, the Rothschild Banking Dynasty, who happen to be the Vatican's Investment Banker, the Rockefellers, the Windsors, and a few other ultra rich families.

Write4Life, Mayer Amschel (Bauer) Rothschild, the founder of the Rothschild Banking Dynasty said, "Give me control over a country's money supply and I care not who makes the laws." The simple truth is the Wall Street Mafia, totally controlled by the Adolfo Nicolas/Rothschild-led alliance runs America, not the Democrat or Republican party.

The reality of it all is the ruling plutocrats, mentioned above, totally control the central banks of some 185 countries today through the IMF and the World Bank. Therefore, the leaders of both the Democrat and Republican parties are ALL nothing more than PUPPETS who do exactly as they are told.

You, like the vast majority of Americans who actually care about the political process, are no match for these ruling trillionaires and their high level puppets running every branch of American life.

Mussolini coined the term FASCISM to describe the form of government that exists to server the best interests of the corporations, not the people. This is the form of government we now have in America.

The last American president who tried to oppose this Ruling Plutocracy was JFK and they brutally murdered him for all the world to see. Since then, every American president, regardless of their political party, has done exactly as they are told.

No, Write4Life, the appearance of two political parties is simply an illusion. Both parties are totally controlled by the same Ruling Elites. Since they also control the mainstream media, they lie to us 24/7/365...about everything of importance.

You mentioned something about people needing to do some research. Well, I agree. Perhaps you could listen to Eustace Mullins, Eric Jon Phelps, and watch the video entitled THE EMPIRE OF THE CITY.

This will get you started learning about what's really happening in the world and who is actually calling the shots.

Perhaps you could listen to Eustace Mullins, Eric Jon Phelps, and watch the video entitled THE EMPIRE OF THE CITY.

I absolutely will -and thank you for the suggestions! I am not a big bang of conspiracy theory - but am familiar with the Rothschilds and the (your term) Wall Street mafia (which I would think it better coined as the international market mafia...) but one can always learn more and thank you for the enlightenment.

As for your profile - after reading it = I have no choice but to become a fan!! Intelligence and humor are by far a complex coupling and you've acheived it!

There's a reason why papers like the New York Times are losing so much money and those that want the news are abandoning the MSM for venues like blogs and this is it: the "traditional" venues are losing credibility.

Corruption is everywhere, yes, but Republicans trying to find a "Democratic Cheney" will have to keep looking. And looking...and looking...

As for Axlerod, I wonder if he has illegal assassination squads working for him like Darth Cheney did?

I'm going to guess "no" on that one.

All your points are well articulated, but you seem to come up short of what is -- at least for me -- a somewhat obvious point.

As Thomas Jefferson warned us, eventually, even the best "two-party" system is bound to become corrupt and complicit.

We are living in the midst of a carefully contrived, media-glossesd illusion of a two-party system. Proof came during and after the election, the bailout was borne under Bush, and cutting teeth under Obama.

Any real candidate would have refused the bailout, and thrown Goldman Sachs out of the Treasury first, and the White House second.

Instead, we watch Obama and McCain "suspend" their campaigns to rush back to Washington, together, to address this "Crisis."

Also, public records clearly show that the Obama campaign took more money from Wall Street companies than either the McCain or Clinton campaign ... significantly more.

And now, as we watch the banks get "nationalized," (Goldman Sachs) and we watch their continued ability to "profit" in the midst of this crisis, it seems almost logical at this point that the Treasury and the Federal Reserve are simply working for someone else ... and not the American public.

Thank you for the comments - excellent points and you're right - this article comes up short in those respects - But, I might add - for a reason.

When Cheney's "issues" first surfaced, they were similar in scope to the ones we are seeing with Axelrod...difference being there was a greater attack force behind the investigation of Cheney when placed side by side - Axelrod's issues are much more vast.

As for Cheney and war crimes and the likes mentioned by Punditty - I have no argument other than I am not so sure we will need to look so hard. Cheney sure didn't look this bad 7 months in. 4 years might change them all - Afghanistan won't be popular, Iraq will be an issue here as well - GITMO, Iran ....we're just getting started...

Corruption DOES sit on both sides of the fence - the Iraq war brought it to the forefront of our lives and we are now seeing the American people realize this was not an 8 year doing - more like a 50.

Bush and Cheney made the world distrust us... but again, will Obama be much better or just weaken us more by forcing the American people to turn on eachother.

In the end - who will be remembered as worse for America may be surprising.

Hi. I voted for Obama, and I am happy to say that there are scum on "both sides of the aisle". I have a deep mistrust for both parties.
(Sorry, There was NO WAY could I vote for McCain/Palin...that would have been insane. He was too close to death, and SHE was an idiot at best, or a psychopath at worst.)
Axelrod should DEFINITELY be investigated... like mad. Hell, let's do it today!...and let's investigate Obama too!
But can we PLEASE START the investigation by looking at the intensity of the crime? Another criterion could be the amount of cash these CRIMINALS have pumped into the NONSENSE FACTORY (American Media).
In fact, the biggest crimes are ALL are committed by a handful of HUGE corporations, motivated by profit ALONE, who's behavior has become obscene.
Americans won't turn the other way... You know they won't.
Let's pay particular attention to investigate those shills (lobbyists) involved in... 1.)OIL. 2.)Military Arms. 3.)Nuclear interests-which you MUST know have more to do with weaponry than energy-unless you are a fool, and I am betting that you're not. 4.)Coal. 5.) Hazardous Chemicals. 6.)Pharmaceuticals. 7.)Monsanto-all by itself. 8.)BANKING!! 9.)INSURANCE!! 10.)American Media
Not to pick on poor old Cheney, but can we see those notes from the Energy Summit meeting yet? Anyway...
Great, let's get on it! We can hit first, the most heinous crimes...first MURDERERS, then POISONERS,(That would involve numbers 1-7) then we can move on to those that involve THEFT,(That would involve numbers 7&8), where we finally get to LIARS (Good old number 9.)
And while we're at it, just for treating American Citizens like fools for the last hundred years, like pawns for the last 50 years, like slaves for the last 30 years, and like garbage during the last three years, let's just WHACK the Federal Reserve!
C'mon...;) it'll be fun.
In reality Democrats and Republicans are the same. You'd have to be a "true believer" (fool) on either side, to fall for the contrived battles...or for cute, syntactic traps.

your pal, Nick

Some folks want to investigate Bush And Cheney. I say OK.
Some folks want to investigate Obama and Axelrod. I say OK. However,
without new, strong regulations, oversight and watchdog groups;Greed,
Corruption, and Waste will continue in the government AND in Private Industry. Soo, what are we waiting for? [:-[
