It doesn't appear that Michael Vicks past is affecting his merchandise sales. In fact on the official NFL.com website, the backup quarterback's No. 7 jersey is one of their top sellers.
Customers can even purchase the popular jersey for their favorite pet. While the pet jersey isn't the "official" jersey sold for humans, it is possible to customize a pet jersey with Vick's name and number.
"[Customers] can order a jersey of any team with any name [they] want," NFL representative Greg Aiello said in an interview with NBC Philadelphia.
It looks like the NFL, like the Philadelphia Eagles, is working to give Vick his second chance.
"As far as putting it on the dog product, he's working with humane societies, working to educate others on this issue," Aiello said, "so we don't see a problem."
According to the NFL, there are at least two Vick-related jerseys customers cannot buy, "Mexico" (which was Vick's alias during a 2005 sex scandal) and "Bad Newz" which was the name of Vick's illegal dog fighting promotion. (While customers cannot customize the "Mexico" Jersey, "Bad Newz" is still available as of this writing.)
