According to USA Today, "hundreds of New York-area auto dealers withdrew from the government's cash for clunkers program today, citing delays in getting reimbursed by the government, a dealership group says."
Much like in New york, Florida car dealerships are also awaiting their rebate reimbursements and are getting nervous that their money will not be returned. Although many are not so confident in getting their money back, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood feels otherwise. According to the Miami Herald, LaHood told reporters ``I know dealers are frustrated, they're going to get their money.''
The public is awaiting Obama's decision about how long the Cash for Clunkers incentive program is going to last. So far, half of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association's 425 members have withdrawn from the Cash for Clunkers program due to the fact that they cannot afford to give more rebates and are worried about getting paid.
