We are in a hurry. Its a fact. We all want to be more organized, but it is a hard pill to swallow and an even harder one to make happen. When it comes to grabbing dinner or making lunch for work, the tendancy is to wait until the last minute and then we are forced to either take an unhealthy fast option, or just buy it on the run. This is not always a bad thing, but the options you have when you are in a hurry are not nearly as good as when you take the time to do it right.
If you plan out your meals for the week before hand, it is a lot easier to make good choices when you are in a hurry. Below are a few tips to making sure you have what you need for meals in the week to come.
1.MAKE A MENU
I found it a lot easier to go shopping and assure I had planned out some delicious health food when I made a menu the Sunday before the week began. I would plan out my dinners and what I would have to buy for them, and I got a general idea for my lunches, and what I would need for those. It wont fix everything, but I guarantee it will make life a lot easier not having to worry about what you are going to make and if you will have to to go the grocery store before you make it.
2.PRE-PREPARE YOUR MEALS
To go along with making a menu for the week, you can pre-make your lunches or dinners the weekend before and put them in containers you can take with you. The two things that I would do is make a put of rice and some chicken breasts and separate them out in to tupperwear containers to have a healthy lunch for the week. I would also buy salad and make little salads to go along side. As for dinners it was really easy to make spaghetti sauce ahead of time and freeze it as well as casserolles that you can just put in the oven and go back to what you were doing. You save yourself a lot of time and give yourself some leeway about making sure you are getting healthy foods to eat.
3. KNOW WHERE TO GO
If you know you are going to go out to lunch or dinner make sure you know the area's you will be in and check out what places are around there. That way you dont end up at a fat burger where the healthiest thing they have is the fried chicken burger. Just be smart about your destinations and give yourself a place to go with healthy options. Take some ownership to living healthier and do your body a favor.
