Karachi, August 19: With Pakistan’s 62nd celebration of Independence being commemorated throughout the country, SAMAA TV in joint collaboration with the National Highways and Motorway Police made the day even more special for the people travelling by giving out national flags, badges and flowers to the thousands of commuters on Karachi to Hyderabad Toll Plaza.

The event was held to make the travelers rejoice and feel included in the national celebration which marks Pakistan as a proud and independent nation and represents a public which follows the vision of the nation Founder, Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah by being a nation of unity, faith and discipline.

Talking on the occasion, DIG of National Highways and Motorway Police Dr. Aftab Ahmed Pathan who himself took an active part in the campaign and distributed flags and flowers amongst the school kids, who had come to support and celebrate the event said “This is a wonderful way to celebrate the independence day, making the nation realize that despite our current national challenges, we are one nation and we should unite for a better and more progressive Pakistan”. Dr. Pathan assured that his department was always at service for its people and said that the success of all public services lies in joint efforts, mutual understanding and respect.

He specially applauded SAMAA’s efforts for being a part of this celebration campaign to mark this special day and encouraged other corporate entities to reach out to the communities at grass root level and create a more positive spirit and public mindset.

Mr. Amir Jahangir, Chief Executive Officer of SAMAA TV said that “being socially responsible is at the heart of everything we do. We take this role very seriously and believe that the communities are the core of our nation. We have to ensure that those initiatives are created which bring long-lasting benefits to our nation. Pakistan is a very rich country in terms of national resources – the richest resource of all is our people, who are the key players in developing our country.”

Mr. Jahangir applauded the National Highways and Motorway Police for having been exceptional in collaborating on various outreach campaigns for the benefit of the nation and said that they were the benchmark for many other departments. He further added that SAMAA TV is a responsible organization and will always be keen to be part of initiatives that will unite the nation.

Apart from the gifts that were presented to the travelers, SAMAA TV also made beautifications to the gantry signs on the toll plaza. The activity is a part of SAMAA TV’s campaign to make Pakistan more beautiful.

The thousands of travelers enjoyed the celebration and were keen on seeing the police fully involved and appreciated the friendly gesture and approach of the interaction. Many travelers praised SAMAA TV’s role in making the Independence Day special for them and hoped to see such initiatives in the future as well.
