You’re eating a well balanced diet and exercising regularly but you can’t seem to keep the weight off.
Check on what you’re DRINKING.
Liquid calories, also known as sugar filled drinks, can be the real culprit in the difficulties of losing weight. A recent research shows, curbing or cutting sugary liquids out of your diet has a far more prominent fact in weight loss than restricting your diet.
Sugar, is empty calories and will never satisfy your body’s hunger, only intensify the cravings for more sugar.
Here are 5 Sneaky Drinks:
FRUIT JUICE
Even if it’s 100%, fruit juices are primarily made of high fructose corn syrup. Translation: Sugar. Instead of drinking your fruits, try eating them instead.
SPORTS DRINK
These drinks will replenish your body from the electrolytes lost during work out sessions. However, these drinks are just another form of sugar water. Unless you have been training for hours, non-stop, chances are, all your body needs in order to be re-hydrated is just plain, ol’ water.
You should also just eliminate completely those so-called energizing drinks. These are just pure sugar. You won’t be energized just be shot with a sugar rush then crash heavily – making yourself more tired.
Make sure you’re having enough hours of sleep – 8 hours is ideal. If you still find yourself dozing off, go out side for a fresh air, drink a glass of water or have a fruit for a snack, instead.
DIET SODA
Diet soda may have a few less calories than its sugary counterpart but it’s still soda at the end of the day. In fact, researches have shown a link between diet sodas and heart disease. In more recent research, the likelihood of obesity is double amongst diet soda drinkers. A person who drinks diet soda might feel that it’s okay to compensate and have a heavy, calorie filled meal.
Trade in the sodas all together by having a glass of water and flavor it with slices of lemon, lime or oranges. If you need the fizz, opt for club soda.
HOT SWEETS
There are many benefits to having a cup of coffee but be careful of what you add.
Drinking it black or with low-fat milk is ideal.
Curb your sugar intake and try raw sugar instead. Stay away from syrups and leave the dessert drinks like, mocha, frappacinos, and anything topped off with whip cream, as a dessert and not a drink to go with your dessert.
It would be such a shame to have all your hard work with eating right and exercising to be counteractive simply because of what you’re drinking. Be moderate with your specialty drinks but grab a glass of water for most of the time.
