SUPARNO SATPATHY awarded 'Global Youth Leadership Award - 2009'

New Delhi: International youth day was celebrated by Youth Organization in a grand event at India habitat Centre.The occasion was graced by Union Minister of State for Coal Mr.Shriprakash Jaiswal as the Chief Guest.The inauguration of the event was conducted by Mr. Sultan Ahmad Union Minister of State for Tourism. Dr.G.V.G Krishnamurthy ( Ex Chief election Commissioner of India), Mr. Gurinder Singh and Ms. Alka Lamba graced the dais as the guests of Honour.

Several youth leaders from a number of countries were awarded on the Occasion.

Noted social activist and young political leader from Orissa , India Mr.Suparno Satpathy was awarded with the ‘Global Youth Leadership Award-2009’. Mr. Satpathy could not make it to the event and the
President of Youth Organization accepted the award on his behalf from the Chief Guest. In a message sent to ‘Youth Organization’ Mr.Suparno Satpathy expressed his regret for not being able to attend to the award ceremony in person and he thanked everyone for bestowing this honour on him. The message also read that this award further strengthens his commitment towards the social cause of Orissa. On behalf of Mr. Suparno Satpathy this message was read out by the President of Youth Organization on the dais.

The Chief Guest Minister Mr. Jaiswal told this reporter, “ We are all very proud of Shri Suparno Satpathy. I am very happy that he in the true sense carries forward the tradition of his legendary family for delivery of selfless service to Orissa ”.

Col B.S Sharma the Chairman Organizing Committee of the awards said that Youth Organization is committed for integration and development of young people of the world.

“ This is a very noble cause initiated by Youth Organization. We highly appreciate it” said Mr. Chooney the ambassador of Mauritius.

The grand event was graced by the Ambassadors of Ghana, France, Italy, Uganda, China etc. The evening also saw the presence of several celebrities along with a large presence of top level Govt. of
India officials.
