We knew it all along and now, extensive research has established that what we knew is true – tea is a stress reliever. That is why it is served regularly in meetings and is sold at not just street corners but at railway stations and every conceivable outlet. Unless one gulps the morning cup of tea, his day does not begin on a healthy or happy note. During my early morning walks in Bangalore, I have seen a man who brings it in a thermos and sets up shop at the corner of the road – the thermos is kept on his bicycle and on the handle bar of the cycle hangs a bag that contains the disposable plastic cups and packs of cigarettes. He also carries biscuits and buns.
