An Opinion on the State of Our Nation - Day Zero - 200

And then they found the keyboard...and all hell broke loose.

What had previously been a tactic of the left – blanket the blogs – blanket the media – speak loudly – became a way for all Americans to speak as well. People began to say that America's new President had no intention of imposing change that would assist the country but instead, he intended to change the country.

The administration and the left never anticipated anyone would ever criticize the new President after the support he received during his election campaign and they underestimated the will of the people. Blogs and groups popped up in support of opposition to the proposed reforms of the new administration quickly. When it became more apparent that the administration could not push the liberalization of a slightly right of center nation to the far, far left– they went on the defense.

They blamed the republican party.

However, the people – and not the politicians – raised some very valid and solid arguments when they began to question the administration's objectives. When the administration repeatedly responded with generalities and continued to spin the question and throw blame instead of taking the high road... the questions gained momentum.

People who had never picked up the NY Times or the Wall Street Journal, or watched FOX, CNN, or read a blog in their entire adult days - began to. They also began to follow the posts and writings of their neighbors and they started listening to the people around them. Words were no longer just online and in newspapers – they were discussed at library groups across the nation – church groups – on beaches – mom groups – offices – emails – everywhere. Even people who had previously thought of themselves as "liberal" thought twice...maybe not enough to change all of their liberal views – but they listened and some did start to wonder if this administration was even representing THEM.

It was not a great right wing conspiracy – they were not listening to right wing "entertainers" – but just everyday middle class Americans who took time out of their busy lives to read the bills Congress refused to read but somehow found time to sign. People who had never lifted a pen before took time out of their busy lives to follow the path of the President and they stated a view that had not been distorted by a left wing Congress and President, or the left wing media, or the left wing popularity riddled blogs – or the right wing for that matter as well.

The American people began to doubt the validity of those they had previously trusted and suspicions began to grow. It was not a conspiracy that the American people were witnessing - it was an awakening. Decades in the making, a true and bitter dislike of all politicians and a call for all elected officials to listen to the people that elected them had suddenly become a matter of consciousness to all. The transparency promise had been a hoax and now all Americans faced the greatest challenge of their lives.... protecting their country from a bunch of crooked politicians with a political agenda to socialize a country.

At first – many thought it was nuts to say that American politicians in elected office and especially the one in the Oval office were attempting the socialization of America, but after 100 days into a new Presidential term – it wasn't just the conservatives stating this anymore.

100 days later, and marking the 200th day of the historic election of Barack Obama – it was no longer a stretch at all. Conservative, republican, democratic and independent people were uniting and instead of listening to the people ---------------- the "Hill" came back with gloves on ... accusing any person who vocalized any opposition to the reform – angry mobs. There were even a few comments coming off the "Hill" that the groups of people were paid for their opposition – obviously.

EXTREMISTS... RACISTS... HATERS... RIOTERS... They are all old southern white males and they are all liars and they are being paid by the RNC and lobbying groups to disrupt meetings and town hall events. Except, they were not just republicans and conservatives – but Democrats and Independents too. Photos went up along with blog posts and research backed up comments and people started to listen to the scary thought that just maybe there was validity in the statements of the people writing. They read and it didn't take long to see they were not JUST old southern white males – but Asian, Black, Female, Hispanic and all creeds and colors. That it wasn't just the rich, the middle class - nor was it just the poor. It wasn't just the educated, and it wasn't just the drop outs... EVERYONE began to voice concern.

Just exactly what HAD the liberal left succeeded at by dominating the youth, the Internet, Hollywood, TV, and the uninformed and how – now – that they had succeeded and were pushing major social (socialism) reform – could they be stopped?

VOICES of America began to speak.

THEN... The government asked American people to send them an email and put up a link on their website for other Americans to "turn in" their neighbor if they spoke out against reform and as defense to the opposition speaking out at town hall meetings....THE UNIONS came to the administration's defense.

They would shut down all the voices!

The question that lies ahead of American voices now is no longer a question of whether America is headed in the right direction – but whether or not Americans will be too afraid to vocalize their opinions and waiver to union intimidation and the fear of the government coming "after" them.

It isn't silly anymore to say this government seems to be using a Germany 1939 play book to set its course. Union intimidation, government takeover and citizens ratting out citizens are not from the play books of America they are roles of a totalitarian government and it isn't a game anymore – it's happening.

I am not an extremist. I am a wife, a mother and a writer. Prior to recent political events, I hardly ever wrote about politics. My beliefs have always been in God, family and freedom but I have never actively participated in any form of political activism and I really do not consider myself any different than any of my friends or neighbors.

I have always respected the opinions of others and I still do.

I drawn the line however, at ignorance and at losing my country. I am intelligent enough to realize what we are seeing is not at all an advancement of our country into anything but government oppression and government control.

I want more than that for my children.

I cannot keep quiet any longer and neither can you.

Do not back down to Government and Union intimidation.

Do not let the radical left fill your head with false promises while taking away your very sacred freedoms.

If you want change – keep looking....this is NOT what this country voted for and I KNOW there are many more representatives in this country that would better serve the American people.

Vote OUT the senior Congress people in 2010 and 2012.

It's time to SERIOUSLY change the guard.

Now that the Unions have pledged to stop the Americans at the town hall meetings - is there any doubt that there WILL be voilence eventually?

It's certainly a scary thought - but anger is anger and the suppression of speech is supposed to be illegal in this country.

The Unions stating they would start going to meetings? If there was any doubt that card check should be trampled on.... well, I think the Unions announcing yesterday their decision to attend the meetings should rid Americans of that idea.

I'm a union member... don't take it too much to heart; basically, I don't think they'll do much. There are a lot of union members who feel the same way I do. If there was anything like that organized in my area, I'd be there... but on the other side.

I wondered how the unions would get out of being trampled by the Health Care bill, until I read this:
9 SEC. 154. CONSTRUCTION REGARDING COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.
    10
11 Nothing in this division shall be construed to alter
12 of supercede any statutory or other obligation to engage
13 in collective bargaining over the terms and conditions of
14 employment related to health care.

Sounds to me, that the unions, like the Congress and the President, will get a free ride.
