The remains of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino will lie in state at the La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) gymnasium, and the wake will be open to the public at certain times.

The public viewing at the LSGH (Gate 5) will start at 5PM this Saturday, August 1 and will continue until Monday, August 3. The wake will be closed to the public from 4AM to 7AM Sunday.

She will be buried beside her late husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. at the Manila Memorial Park on Wednesday after the 9AM mass.

The former president of the Philippines, Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino who passed away on early Saturday morning, August 1, 2009, will be finally buried this Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at the Manila Memorial Park beside her husband, former Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.

Tita Cory or Cory, as she is fondly called by people who knew her, died from cardiac respiratory arrest, after almost a year of suffering from colon cancer, according to her son, Senator Benigno Aquino III or Noynoy.

Just like the million of Filipinos both in the Philippines and abroad, I would surely give anything to watch her burial this coming August 5, 2009. The present Administration of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was kind enough to declare August 5 as a special non-working holiday to give everyone a chance to pay their last respects to the only icon of democracy in the Philippines.

If I could only have a way, I will travel to Manila to be one with the rest of my fellow Filipinos the fare was too expensive. Luckily, I found out that I could watch the burial of Tita Cory right here on the Internet, live streaming.

Because August 5 was declared as a special non-working holiday, I could be one with the whole nation in paying our last respects to Tita Cory...

Tita Cory, thank you for showing us the way. We will surely miss you.

Farewell our Great Lady. We thought your only second to Ninoy in terms of greatness in sharing your love and life to the country and to us, its people. I may be wrong. Because you're always be equal among our immortals. You will forever be enshrined in our hearts and in our ideals in life. You really have fought a good fight. You have really keep the faith. We just hope we can emulate what you shared in our own little way. We will not be tired of telling our children what good you have done for us and for them as we fought our own fight.

Thanks Ronie, it really makes everyone come to see in ourselves that we need to change within and not somebody else.

If only we in Mindanao could witness the burial live, we could have brought with us our children for them to witness this momentous event in our history. Cory Aquino is indeed the Philippines' mother of democracy while her husband Ninoy is the champion of democracy. May their tribe increase.
