According to Nintendo’s third-quarter briefing, four of their published titles achieved more than a million units of worldwide sales in the last fiscal quarter. Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports, and Nintendo DS game Pokemon Platinum Version all neared two million units during the three months between April 30th and June 30th, 2009, and Wii Fit was most successful, amassing 3.6 million sales during that time. The total count was less than last year’s six million-sellers during Q3. The list last year included the three Wii games, as was another Pokemon game, but there was nothing to take the place of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Play. In Q3 2008, Nintendo overall sold 20.85 million units among its million-sellers; this year they moved 9.42 million units. According to Gamasutra.com, the exact numbers of sales for the games, including hardware pack-ins, are as follows: - Pokemon Platinum Version : 1.91 million (5.66 million to date) - Wii Fit : 3.6 million (21.82 million to date) - Mario Kart Wii : 2.00 million (17.39 million to date) - Wii Sports : 1.91 million (47.62 million to date)
