Michael Robb, a defense lawyer in Palm Beach County, Florida, resisted a court's motion to force him to throw away his Cole Haan loafers he was wearing because they were so old and worn. The court wanted him to buy new shoes.
The plaintiff's lawyer, Bill Bone, had made a complaint that jurors would see the holes in the bottoms of Mr. Robb's shoes and be sympathetic towards his clients and be more deserving towards him and his cases would win.
The motion, however, was denied. Mr. Robb said later in a Palm Beach Post story that he has a renewed enthusiasm for his shoes.
Well, some say shoes do make the man...
