The prolonged dry spell has earned traditional chiefs and elders the wrath of the public who blame them for doing nothing to entice the rain to fall as traditional they are supposed to bring rain.
Gulu secretary for production Michael Onencan said that as he moved around the district many people affected by the current food shortage blamed the traditional chiefs and elders for not performing rituals to bring rain.
But Onencan said he does not believe on such things like rituals as a Christian because they are satanic and they can cause more proplems.
He blame the looming to prolonged dry spell, low food stocksin community and increase in prices in markets there by encouraging peasants to sell their harvests and food stocks.
He therefore asked communities to stop laying blame on those who do not deserve it at all.
