In a baseball stadium with perhaps more history then any other and surrounded by perhaps the most hardcore Baseball fans ever, Jim Rice stood on the field of Fenway Park in Boston, Massachussetts as fellow Red Sox legend Johnny Pesky raised the banner to reveal Jim rices retired numbers up on Fenways walls for all to see, this was the scene yesterday at Fenway Park and although Boston lost the game afterwards, it was a great day for Red Sox fans.

The 8th Red Sox player to have his number retired Jim has always been and will always be a big part of Red Sox Nation, joining the likes of Johnny Pesky, Carl "The Yaz" Yastrzemski and Ted Williams up on the wall.

Thanks Jim for some great memories and some even greater games.
