Scientists worried about robots becoming smarter than human beings

Robots that can be used to open a door and find electrical outlets and recharge itself. Are becoming a worry for scientists, as they worry about them becoming smarter than people. A machine that can kill and possibly go haywire.

Kind of like Hal in 2001 space odyssey, Dave being locked out of the space craft, "Dave, what are you doing Dave?." Terminator comes to mind, machines becoming self aware. Finally there is Star Trek the next generation movie, "We are Borg resistance is futile".
