Seven policemen including one civilian were injured in bomb explosion on Indus Highway near Godi Banda Kohat on Saturday. Kohat Rescue 15 police had received information regarding remote control bomb planted by unknown miscreants on Indus Highway, police bomb disposal squad had rushed to the spot to diffuse ten kilo gram heavy remote control bomb, after closure of road for traffic men of bomb disposal squad have successfully removed remote control system from the bomb and have moved the bomb towards empty place to diffuse it completely, during their effort to diffuse the bomb time device system attached with explosives was suddenly exploded, consequently incharge bomb disposal squad sub inspector Muhammad Akbar, Technician ASI Sadat Habib, Constable Javid Iqbal, Qaisar Khan, Khalid Mehmood and driver Ahmed Ali were injured. One civilian tractor driver Abdul Manaf resident of Sheikhan village of Kohat was also injured, while police motorcycle and two mobile vans were also damaged. Injured people were rushed to KDA hospital Kohat.
RCO Kohat Haji Umar Khan Afridi, DIG Police Koat region Abdulla Khan,DCO Siraj Ahmed Kann, and DPO Dilawar Khan Bangash ad other officials had visited the injured in KDA hospital Kohat and have directed the hospital staff to take special care of te injured people. Governor NWFP Awais Ahmed Ghani, Chief Minnister NWFP Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Inspector General Police Malik Naveed Khan have condemned the violent incident and have announced financial reward for injured people. Mean while police have tightened the noose around miscreants responsible for planting remote control device and have arrested number of suspects from adjacent areas of the spot where bomb was planted.
