H1N1 weekly updates

There are now eight confirmed deaths due to the H1N1 virus in Puerto Rico, the Department of Health informed today, while there are more than 20 suspected H1N1 deaths, 103 patients confirmed with the virus, and more than 1,200 other possible cases of infected people.

Puerto Rico's governor Fortuno, said that if people would follow the health recommendations given by the State Deparment of Health, it was not necessary to elevate the level of emergency on the island to 6, as long as everyone is cooperating.

United States officials have asked several thousand volunteers to try the effectiveness of the new vaccine against H1N1, or swine flu, that has been produced in both France and Australia. The new vaccine should be fully developed and would be available to the rest of the population soon after that.
