Here I am, an uprising senior in high school and eager to start my college career. Growing up in an unfortunately poverty-stricken homes doesn't make things easy. Money to pay for college just isn't in our bank accounts.
I've taken my high school career seriously. In my Career Orientation class, my teeacher and counselor teamed up to introduce my class to the website ar.kuder.com for us to take an assessment test for our portfolios. I explored the site on my own later (since we had to create an account for the assessment test) and found thta it was GREAT for looking up colleges.
One day, I logged onto ar.kuder.com to look up the estimated cost of one of the colleges I am interested in when I saw a "suggested link" for scolarship search. My eyes lit up and I followed the link. That link took me to www.fastweb.com. My line of thought was "It's a scholarship search enhine. What could I possibly loose?" so I signed up. I was right. After filling out my profile, it turned out to be rather useful.
Another site that a friend of mine introduced me to was www.zinch.com. Its another good website for both looking for colleges and looking for scholarships.
So, if you are having trouble finding either colleges or scholarships, I advise you check out the sites: ar.kuder.com, www.fastweb.com, and www.zinch.com for yourself. I ask that if you have any that you use already feel free to leave a comment with the URL to the website.
