Vodafone Qatar, which will be listed on Qatar Exchange on Wednesday, has been successful in increasing the number of its customers to 20,000.
Vodafone Qatar Chief Executive Officer Grahame Maher said, “Our target was to have 10,000 customers before listing.
Today we have 20,000 customers.
This is double the target we had hoped to achieve by the end of July.” He said the company expected a good response as soon as it got listed on the Qatari bourse.
Trading in Vodafone Qatar’s shares at the Qatar Exchange will start from Wednesday.
Vodafone Qatar had raised QR3.38 billion in an initial public offering in April this year.
Vodafone Qatar will be the first company listed at the newly set up Qatar Exchange, which is the successor of the Doha Securities Market.
On the first day of trading on Wednesday, Vodafone Qatar’s shares can be traded in any price range.
Thereafter, share prices would be allowed to fluctuate 10 percent up or down as per Qatar Exchange’s trading regulations.
Vodafone Qatar’s IPO consists of 338,160,000 ordinary shares priced at QR10 per share.
