Temporary Peace In Nigeria's Notorious Niger-Delta Region

Owerri : Nigeria | 4 months ago
Views: 21

Militancy, kidnapping and the likes are the news emanating from Nigeria these days since the youths of the Niger-Delta region decided to make their voices heard over the plights of the region as a result of oil exploration in the region. This, as it seems, is changing.

The government's amnesty and the release of the leader of the MEND's leader, Henry Okah, seem to be reaping good results based on the suspension of the militancy, vandalism and kidnappings in the creeks. How long this peace will last is only left to the militants and the government to decide.
