If the Republican candidate for the next election had to picked right now, Mitt Romney would very possibly be the front runner. Polls show that he currently has the best chance of becoming the republican nominee with a 45/45 rating against President Obama.
This a real concern for me, because having spent 20 years as a member of the Mormon religion, I remember all to well how things work... One of the foremost commitments a member makes to the church is total "blind" obedience to any and everything the president of the church dictates.
This being the case, who "in essence" would be running the country?
As CEO of a major management consultant firm with an outstanding record of success, Romney certainly brings the financial experience needed to bring the country out of the financial disaster that the current administration is creating, but even though he may be qualified, the real question is - will he be able to maintain the needed "separation of church and state"?
We're still a long way from the election - but it's definitely food for thought...
