pound for pound great, Fedor Emelianenko.

Widely considered the top of the heavyweight division in the world of mixed martial arts, Fedor Emelianenko has many choices as the end of his contract with Affliction comes to an end. One of the many doors that has opened is the chance to fight in the UFC. Dana White has talked with Fedor before, but the heavyweight champ said the conditions were "one sided" and that Dana didn't treat his fighters like people. However, the circumstances have changed. Even though White used to claim that Fedor was overated, he seems to want him in the UFC more than ever now. Some claim that it's a result of UFC's current heavyweight champ, Brock Lesnar's actions at UFC 100. It seems as though White wants somebody to beat Lesnar. If that's the case, there's not a man out there that has a better chance than Fedor. While mma fans everywhere sit in anticipation and have discussions about wether or not the dream match up of Fedor vs. Brock will every really happen, one thing remains true, Fedor has yet his biggest task to date merely weeks away. On August first Fedor has to fight, whom many consider to be his toughest opponent yet, number 2 ranked Josh Barnett. Will the UFC ever be the home of the russian juggernaut? Only time will tell, but until then, we just have to sit back and watch the pound for pound great continue to prove to us that he is, in fact, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

As far as im conserned Fedor is over qualified for the job if Brock Lesnar is the best that the U.F.C. has to offer in the heavyweight division, than he should just stay where he is at. Thats like having the head chef do the dishes. Make Dana sweat, let him realize who is representing him than maybe the whole heavyweight division will get a make over... or maybe he is one step ahead of me and Fedor is the first move in a major renavation, either way Brock Lesnar needs removed, not only because of his actions at 101 but because of his poor one dimensional fighting style his lack of talent and and for everyone who is working there ass's off day and night for a hope to maybe see the inside of the octagon when he waltzed right in with no experiance because of his size. He is making a mockery of a great sport and I hope everyone can see that.

It is unlikely that Fedor will be the next in line to face Lesnar. Dana White and the UFC have gone down this road before. White is scared that the heavyweight division is lacking and that Brock will hold the title for a very long time. After Brock Lesnar's actions post fight at UFC 100, a lot of people want to see him lose the title and the first heavyweight anyone will turn to is Fedor. If we see a Lesnar/Fedor main event it will be the biggest fight in UFC history (maybe in all of MMA history). MMA news will be jam packed with rumors about Dana White trying to get Fedor to the UFC in the coming months, but an actual contract is a very long way away. Don't hold your breath.
