Friday prayers: Differing views Mounting Outrage in Iran! Islamic council of students has already called for the resignation of Ahmadinejad's VP pick &
Hi mllovric I agree! It will take time but it will happen. I heard this morning that Ahmadinejad's VP had to resign because of hard line opposition. He was pro Israeli. Cracks continue to show!

The reason those three have not yet made alliance is because they might have aims other than to overthrow the current regime, or to change the structure of the revolution.
They are more concerned with power and getting to it. Rafsanjani was President, and a harsh one at that, before. I do not think he will be particularly softer as Supreme leader.
In fact he may be one of the most negative people in the spot. Khamenei as still, for years, been a soft spoke and relatively quiescent figure. He has never used the power of the supreme leader to its full extent.
More importantly, he was the reason and the main support for Mohammad Khatami, Iran's truly reformist president, who beat Rafsanjani in the mid-90's.
Khatami was hounded and halted at every step, and still managed to do a lot in he way of reform. Iran's current leniency is his doing. Rafsanjani is more hardline, as you have mentioned.
I would suggest taking a closer look at these men, because as they say, 'Hail to the new chief, same as the old chief'. Just in this case, the new chief might be a whole lot worse for the young population of Iran who want to live and have fun like young people everywhere.
I think the reason Khamenei stood behind Ahmadinejad was because the latter really did win. Or perhaps Khamenei believed he did. Rafsanjani, though, smells like a crook.
Hi changez I know! The more things change the more they remain the same. If he could Rafsanjani wants to nuke Israel too. I just think Sistani could hold the three of them together.

I agree Fauzia! I noted this morning that Ahmadinejad's VP resigned as the hard liners wanted him relieved because he wanted peace with Israel. The cracks deepen!
Thanks spike I think! Quite a convoluted mess for sure!
