Mayawati - what a shame?

Why are some women politicians such idiots? Mayawati goes around spending taxpayers funds in making statues of herself and of her party symbol-elephant. This is a gross wastage of public funds and utter disregard for people's welfare. She has been taken to task by the SC and asked to explain her expenditure. She is extremely corrupt. Her views on foreign policy or any policy are naive to say the least. She even nurtured Prime Ministerial ambitions but luckily for us that did not work out for her. Now, the latest controversy surrounding the attack on Rita Bahuguna, the Congress chief in UP is yet another instance of her high handedness.

Agreed that Ms. Bahuguna's statement was in bad taste and even the Congress has distanced itself from it but to get her house burnt down when she has already been arrested is plain and simple hooliganism. She has turned UP into some sort of fiefdom of herself where she does what she wishes. It is utterly dismaying that till the next State Elections this woman continues like a despot continuing pretty much as she wishes. Why can't we hold these elected MLAs accountable and punish them during their tenure. She has gone on too far already.

Believe me the disgust which most of us feel for her has nothing to do with caste or anything else but only with her inefficiency and greed. And God help, who makes their statues in their own lifetime? She says they will act as pilgrimage spots for dalits. Please spare us the rhetoric! Go work for the people for which you have been elected or you will bite the dust soon.
