I said that I wasn't going to write any more about Michael Jackson, but after reading a few letters to the editor in my local newspaper I felt the need to share the thoughts...

I fully agree! Two servicemen were killed in service on the same day as Michael Jackson. I wish at his elaborate service, SOMEONE would have at least mentioned not only the passing of these two young Americans, but honor our servicemen with a moment, a prayer, a song, any little token of citizen appreciation. For all those who don't know, when an injured soldier returns to the states for 'treatment', the conditions are deplorable and their treatment is both lacking and abhorrent. This is not in the public awareness. I know this information firsthand, as my best friend's son returned home from Iraq injured, and it's been difficult for him to get the care he needs.

I think the problem with the Michael Jackson coverage is that it happened during a time when the world wanted to REALLY escape reality. Let's face it. You can't get anymore UNREAL than Michael Jackson. He was Peter Pan to the world so how could he die?

The world turned into hypocrites. Look at how they were against him when he was up on child molestation charges. Now they say that because of his abuse, he was misunderstood. Good grief!

Now is the time to take charge of ourselves. We need to look for jobs. We need to be there for our families.

Addiction is a major problem as is judging others from heresay. He was made out to be a monster, freak, weirdo...like many true artists, he was probably a very sensitive individual and his empire attracted greedy, plotting people pretending to be his friend. Several icons have died over prescription drugs. Rather than blaming & judging, maybe it would assist the world mind disease of its human population to wish he & his family peace and prayers. Let's expand that out and address some issues now staring us in the face. It's not all about the economy and money, how about the burning of innocent people being burned alive as witches in Africa & New Guinea?? How about addressing the child protective servic institutions to prevent further torturings of innocent babies. How about addressing the abuse of elders? How about balancing the very rich & the impoverished? There is so much that needs even our focus for one moment with the intent to somehow work together. The entire planet has been poisoned for greed, it's a global disease.
